The second candle of the advent is called the Bethlehem candle. It reminds us that God appeared to us in a humble manner. Christ came in humility and love NOT with the fading power of wealth or political clout. God works through small, seemingly insignificant things, people and places to change the world one life at a time. And He still seems especially interested in what the world deems as small, insignificant, and marginalized.
