The resurrection did NOT pay the price for our sin; it proved that the price for sin was paid in full. If Jesus did not rise from the dead, then His death was a failure and we are still in our sins. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead guaranteed that He was powerful enough to forgive sins. Forgiveness was purchased by His death and guaranteed by His resurrection!
