The idea of a u-turn helps us see that in the spiritual life, Jesus came to set His people free. His forgiveness leads us to freedom from our hurts, habits and hang-ups. A u-turn is a picture of repentance: heading one way, being found by Jesus Christ and then going the opposite way from where we were headed after He changed our hearts. U-turns help us understand that where we are, we are not supposed to stay. God always leads us in repentance. We’re going our own way and then we’re confronted by Christ. Then choosing to follow Him, we turn and go another way by the power of the Holy Spirit.
