Godly living will attract harassment. This principle of Kingdom living is very hard to listen to, and I pray that God gives us the grace to understand His meaning this morning -- to count the cost but to continue to follow at all costs. The beatitudes describe what it means to be a godly man and a godly woman. And here Jesus now tells us that it is characterized by harassment and suffering. We don’t need to look for suffering -- we need to live for Christ and it will find us!
